meinestadt.de, Germany's Most Visited Local Internet Search Service,
Leverages Omniture to Optimise the Country's 12,500 City Portals
Omniture Measures Visitor Behaviour Across Several Million
Interrelated Web Sites
MUNICH, GERMANY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 27, 2007 -- Omniture, Inc.
(NASDAQ: OMTR), a leading provider of online business optimisation
software, today announced that allesklar.com AG, the operator of
meinestadt.de ("my city") and Germany's most visited local Internet
search service, has selected Omniture to improve the online
experience for visitors interacting with each of the company's 12,500
city portals (representing several million Web sites). Omniture
SiteCatalyst® will enable meinestadt.de to measure visitor paths as
they navigate across multiple Web properties, ensuring their
consumers find the information they seek. They will also be able to
identify opportunities to improve their portals' Web navigation
structure and determine the revenue impact of paid advertising.
"Our portals generate extremely high levels of traffic -- receiving
about 300 million hits every month -- so it is critical that we
understand how these visitors interact with our sites in order to
create an efficient online environment," said Roland Thiemann,
marketing and Web analytics manager at allesklar.com AG. "Omniture
allows us to accomplish this by providing us with the ability to dive
into the data behind our visitors' behaviour to not only evaluate our
sites' effectiveness, but also easily measure and correlate data
across several million Web sites from one platform."
Each of allesklar's city portals include thousands of interrelated
Web sites that serve as an informational hub for people researching
automotive sales, employment, real estate, personal ads, classified
ads, telephone records, local search, movie times and more. Omniture
allows the company to see how their millions of visitors navigate
through each content area. Thiemann and his team take special
interest in visitor paths, looking for ways to improve the main
streams of traffic and determining if their navigation is intuitive.
Additionally, allesklar.com AG uses SiteCatalyst to understand ad
effectiveness by measuring how many people click on paid
advertisements. This information allows the company to better manage
their marketing spend and optimise relationships with advertising
partners.
"Omniture provides online leaders managing multiple Web properties
and content categories, like meinestadt.de, with a real-time solution
to tap into the vast reservoir of consumer feedback, identify visitor
trends and behaviour, and channel that information into actionable
initiatives," said Stefan Berger, Omniture country manager for
Germany, Austria and Switzerland. "Omniture's technology provides a
flexible platform upon which organisations can not only process large
volumes of visitor data, but also understand how each content
category impacts overall site success."
